Lurkers are large, tameable crabs. In Factions, they come in two varieties, with either red or blue carapaces. The blue one can normally be found around Cavalon, the Luxon Capital. The red one can be found in Pongmei Valley, east of Maatu Keep. One also sometimes spawns in the lake of sewage in Shenzun Tunnels near a group of Afflicted. White Crabs in Eye of the North are not labeled "Lurkers" when discovered in the wild. The white crab does not have lateral spines on the Carapaces like "Reef Lurkers" but has a rounded carapace instead.

Red Version
Pongmei Valley, in the Am Fah stronghold between Maatu Keep and Boreas Seabed.
Blue Version
In every explorable area in the Jade Sea.
White Version
In some areas in Eye of the North.
- A level 5 White Crab can be found in the 2nd level of Raven's Point.
- A level 5 White Crab can be found in the 3rd level of Frostmaw's Burrows (the quest Cold Vengeance is required to access the 3rd level).
- Multiple level 5 White Crabs can be found just south west of the entrance to Arbor Bay from Vlox's Falls just west of the resurrection shrine near the water. This is a great location for death-leveling a white crab to level 20.
- Multiple level 5 White Crabs can also be found on the 3rd level of Darkrime Delves.

- Sometimes charmable in Boreas Seabed (mission).
- Ambient crabs can be found in Dajkah Inlet (location) outpost and in the Mehtani Keys.
- An Elder or Dire Crab can be charmed in Boreas Seabed (explorable). Occasionally, a group of Naga will kill Milodestus the Wrangler and his group, leaving a level 15 Dire or Elder Crab uncharmed.
