No mortal can survive the Sulfurous Haze.

- Sulfurous Haze is applied to any player who steps into the yellow sulfurous sands, and kills players instantly a few seconds after it is applied. This Environment Effect makes the Desolation the most hazardous area.
- Being killed by Sulfurous Haze does not incur Death Penalty and does not raise your character's deaths count (/deaths).
- Sulfurous Haze does not kill your pet.
- Minions, because they are undead, are completely unaffected by the Haze, and are not killed upon entering a Wurm, making it possible to take healthy minion armies across the sulfurous areas if you move quickly.
- The Ebon Vanguard Summons and Asura Summons can survive in the Sulfurous Haze.
- Junundu are immune to Sulfurous Haze.
- Strangely enough, one can traverse most areas of Sulfurous Haze by simply walking around the edge of it. This is a great way to get to places affected by Sulfurous Haze without the aid of Junundu Wurms.
