[edit] <2 Anet
This is quite possibly the best update evar. PvE might be fun now! And my Paragon might get some use out of his Obsidian armor. Also pleased about the Ranger mask updates--DNA 22:28, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Now we need separate skill templates for PvP and PvE effects. But anyhow, yay buffs! *for PvE anyway* I'm gonna miss Steelfang/Brawling Headbutt combo though :/ --

- I can't believe it took them THIS long to finally do this, I mean come on, it's the most fucking obvious fix to pve/pvp balance problems imaginable! --Gimmethegepgun 23:14, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well it was likely one of those things like "aww fuck we gotta do that much work?" So they just avoided it out of laziness. Side note, it's meant to be <2 not <3 >=/--DNA 15:54, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] help?
I dont quite understand something here. Help?
So, now that PvP and PvE are split, can you unlock a PvE elite for heroes? For example, if I wanted my hero to use Shadow Form, would I have to cap it, or would unlocking the PvP version allow my heroes to use the PvE version (in pve of course) ??? --67.60.9.85 23:26, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, someone pointed out earlier I think that the game considers them a completely different skill(by skill ID #s) so going from that I would think it wouldn't but they might of(and should of) coded it so it would unlock. I can't test tho as I have all skills unlocked.--

- That was me who noticed the differing skill IDs. Based on how the IDs acted in memory when I was checking that out with CheatEngine, though, I'm pretty sure that the PvP skills aren't actually considered for unlocking purposes. What happens is that in a PvP area, if you drag a split skill to your skill bar, the PvE skill ID will show up very briefly before it gets replaced by the PvP skill ID. So at a fundamental level, these skills exist primarily as the PvE versions, and the PvP version is only seen when it replaces the PvE version in a PvP area. Of course, any Priest of Balthazar you talk to will show you the PvP version, because they're all in PvP areas, so the skill gets replaced for them, too.
- Long explanation short: for unlocking purposes, a split skill is treated as a single skill, and to answer your original question, unlocking it through a Priest of Balthazar will make it available for heroes to use. —Dr Ishmael

[edit] PvP Skill Messages
It would be really nice if they would implement something that allows you to turn off these stupid messages, Skill has been updated for so-and-so's skillbar for PvP. Every time I go to the guild hall I get this message popup for all my heroes and myself, and frankly its a little irritating. A nice handy on off checkbox in F11 would be awesome for this. *wanders over to the official wiki to throw down my suggestion* --
