[edit] Question about the notes
"Steals damage"? I am not even sure what that means, but in any case we should distinguish damage from life stealing. F G 04:34, 6 April 2006 (CDT)
- I think that is due to the confusion of the author comparing it to Vampiric Gaze. I suggest removing the comparison due to bias, leaving the actual statistics in Damage over Time and energy used over time is fine however --Draygo Korvan 14:39, 21 April 2006 (CDT)
- I think FG was making a more subtle point that life stealing is not damage. On this point I agree with him/her. We should make the text more precise, whatever we do. — Stabber 15:11, 21 April 2006 (CDT)
[edit] Question about the skill
Does the life steal equate to an EXTRA n damage on top of the initial damage? Or is it saying that the shadow damage dealt IS the damage that's stolen? Whatever the answer, shouldn't this be made clear in the notes.
- It's extra life steal. --Kale Ironfist 17:56, 9 April 2007 (CDT)
[edit] Less effective?
It's been said quite a few times this skill is less effective on foes below 50% health...how so? Life stealing is armor ignoring just as shadow damage is, I'm talking for spike purposes.
- Uhm...it does half as much damage and no lifesteal when they're below 50% health. And it has a cast time of 2 seconds and a cost of 10 energy. If that is not less effective on a spike, then I dunno what your standards are...Example: Vampiric Gaze, 10 energy, 1 second cast, no matter their Health you steal ~50. Compared to Shadow Strike, it is less effective when the target is above 50%, since Shadow Strike will deal roughly twice as much damage. But, once they get below 50%, Shadow Strike is no longer effective at all compared to Vampiric Gaze.
