Treasure Hunter

From GuildWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Treasure Hunter is a title that you can display for prestige.

It is awarded per account for opening locked "high-end" chests. During the weekend of April 6-8 2007 and March 21-23 2008, if a Golden Egg dropped for your character, that character would receive one point on this track.

[edit] Benefits

  • For each rank of the Treasure Hunter as well as the Wisdom title track earned, the chance of an item not being destroyed when salvaging a magical upgrade component is increased by 3 percent from a base of 50 percent. The bonuses from both titles do stack.
  • For each rank of the Treasure Hunter track earned, the chance of a lockpick not being destroyed when opening a chest is increased by 3 percent from a base of 10 percent in Hard Mode or a variable base in normal mode (the Lucky title ranks increase your chance by an additional 2 percent per rank).

These titles are granted to an account for opening locked "high-end" chests:

Rank Title High-end Chests opened: Salvage Bonus
increase
Lockpick Bonus
increase
1 Treasure Hunter 100 3% 3%
2 Adept Treasure Hunter 250 6% 6%
3 Advanced Treasure Hunter 550 9% 9%
4 Expert Treasure Hunter
1,200 12% 12%
5 Elite Treasure Hunter
2,500 15% 15%
6 Master Treasure Hunter
5,000 18% 18%
7 Grandmaster Treasure Hunter
(Max level)
10,000 21% 21%
Note: A "high-end" chest can be identified by the cost of the key to open that chest type. If the key normally costs 600 Gold or more from a merchant, then the types of chest that key opens would be classified as high-end and count towards this title.

[edit] Gold Cost

It will cost at least 6000 Platinum to open all 10,000 chests required for Grandmaster Treasure Hunter, assuming you only open chests requiring keys that cost 600 Gold.

Opening Factions chests with discounted keys will reduce the cost to 4800 Platinum. The actual cost will vary but will be less as you will be selling and/or trading the loot from the chests you open. The use of lockpicks combined with the Lockpick Bonus would also affect the total cost of the title.

If using Lockpicks exclusively to obtain this title, starting with 0 points in any title, it would cost 13500 Platinum. This figure however does not include the bonuses to retention you would recieve as you progress through the titles. It does take into account the inherent 10% base retention rate. While obviously this is expensive, the use of lockpicks has other benefits such as increasing your lucky/unlucky title track, and of course the cost drops as your retention rate increases. Also remember that lockpicks can be used in normal mode, especially in Eye of the North areas where you will have a 40% base retention rate while still counting as a high end chest.
