[edit] Description
Tigers are fierce beasts. Luckily, they are tamable. They come in two known varieties, the Tiger and the White Tiger.
The normal (orange) Tiger is very common in Sunqua Vale, near the Shing Jea Monastery. Novice Rangers can easily tame them using Charm Animal. You can find Level 5 White Tigers just West of Tanglewood Copse in the Arborstone explorable area.
A level 5 White Tiger is also found when entering Melandru's Hope from Lutgardis Conservatory. It is lurking just behind a couple of Mantis Stormcaller and a Mantis Hunter.Take them out with heroes/henchmen (bring melee only), then set your flag well out of range, and then use Charm Animal.
There are level 15 tigers (usually Elder) found near Yetis in eastern Pongmei Valley. To capture one, enter Pongmei Valley from Boreas Seabed and flag your hero/henchman party onto the corner where the Yetis first appear. Wait until your party will have reached that spot, then approach and aggro the Yetis. You can usually kill them before they charm the Elder pet (sometimes you get Elder Cranes instead), and then charm it yourself, or with your ranger hero.
A similar scenario also occurs in Melandru's Hope near the enemy boss, Salke Fur Friend. The pet being a level 15 Elder White Tiger, whom Salke Fur Friend seems to charm as soon as you spot them.
However, one of the easiest ways to get the Elder White Tiger is to go to Jade Flats (Kurzick), open your Mission Map, and enter Melandru's Hope. Set the flag for the henchmen/heroes on the position where Salke Fur Friend might be but don't move yourself. Once you think the henchmen have reached the spot of the boss, run down. Salke Fur Friend will be distracted fighting your allies and you then have the chance to get the Elder White Tiger. Just ensure that the henchmen don't start fighting the Tiger. (it might also be possible that the Tiger becomes red (hostile) amid the fight but not actually the charmed pet of Salke Fur Friend, and Charm Animal would still work) Tip: Send only fighters and other non-AoE damage dealers, and take out Salke first, and you almost guarantee that the Tiger won't be charmed, and won't be aggro'd. You can send the party off after defeating the mob and cap at your leisure.
